No-Nonsense Noughties (for people of a certain age) brought some stability and was the decade that people started to grow up. Putting the music collection onto mp3s and then regretting discarding those long-saved-up-for vinyls there was a move to totally abandon popular chart music and search for new sources of inspiration.
